Saddlemen Racing Development has announced that American racer Max Toth (#27) will join the Saddlemen team at the fourth round of the 2026 Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup at Silverstone, Great Britain. Max will take the place of Cory West (#13), who was injured in a crash during qualifying at the Mid-Ohio round of the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers championship.
Saddlemen team owner David Echert had this to say: “It was terrifying to watch our rider, Cory West, strike the curb with his arm as his motorcycle violently tumbled apart during a freak accident in Q1 at Mid-Ohio. Moments like these are a sobering reminder of just how unforgiving motorcycle racing can be.
We're incredibly thankful the outcome wasn't even worse, and our entire Saddlemen Race Development family is wishing Cory a full and speedy recovery as he begins the road back. We know his determination is as strong as ever, and we'll be behind him every step of the way.
As Cory focuses on healing, experienced rider Max Toth will once again step in for Saddlemen Race Development, beginning with the World Bagger Cup race at Silverstone. We have complete confidence in Max and know he'll give everything he has aboard the bike. We're looking forward to the day we can welcome Cory back to the grid when he's healthy and ready. Until then, we're racing for him.”
20-year-old Max Toth has been racing since age 5, including winning races in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup as well as numerous European championships.
“Firstly, I’d like to wish Cory the smoothest and quickest of recoveries following his crash. To get the opportunity to join the MotoGP paddock in the Bagger World Cup is monumental for me, and I have an amazing group of people supporting me. I want to thank everybody at Saddlemen for their trust in onboarding me to their project, and I look forward to giving my 110% in Silverstone to hit the ground running!”
